Distribution of authorship. Utilizing my community to cultivate targeted solutions.

The ‘career story’

‘Twas a but a cold night when her ladyship was… just kidding. Born and raised in Silicon Valley, I’ve had an interesting upbringing.  With a natural inclination for leadership, innovation, and change, I’ve always been optimistic about the future and connecting with others.

I got my start as an athletic Coach and Supervisor with Swim America.  Following this I held numerous contract roles including opportunities within retail (URBN), property management, utilities, and technology (MSFT).  I searched for an environment that would help to cultivate my career and stimulate me mentally.  Due to my fascination with cognitive sciences and people- I knew working in a large organization with potential for growth would be the next step.

In 2013, I joined Stanford Medicine where I worked cross-functionally to increase the student, staff, and faculty experience. I then shifted focus from all employees in one department, to all staff within the organization when I joined Organizational Effectiveness Team in 2018 as a Learning & Organizational Development Partner. In this role, I collaborated with executives to enhance the employee experience and advance organizational strategy through a multitude of initiatives and programs.

In 2022, I joined Carta as a Manager of Global Learning & Organizational Development. I supported the development of shifting their culture to one of continuous improvement and innovation through feedback. Leading with my passion for employee experience, I increased efficiency of the performance management and employee engagement processes. Through December of 2022, I supported the Organizational Development Network Board of Directors with their Professional Development Pillar. After leaving Carta in January of 2023, I started consulting full time during my work gap and travel frenzy.

While traveling was all the rage, and consulting is very fulfilling, I missed the opportunity to see the organizational analytics, systems, and ROI. In September of 2023, I joined The Pasha Group as their Head of Learning & Development full time. Currently I direct the enhancement of human capital enterprise-wide through three initiatives; learning, leadership development, and employee experience. Currently, I’d love the opportunity to have dedicated part-time clients, support leadership retreats, and give back to the community in the form of an adjunct professorship.

Part 2: Becoming the Jedi you’re looking for

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Arizona State University. I also hold a Master of Science in Organizational Psychology from the University of Southern California and a Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from The Johns Hopkins University. I am certified in Diversity and Inclusion by Cornell University as a Practitioner. I’m also a certified Fitness Instructor through RYT. I’m currently pursuing a doctoral degree in education at the University of Illinois centered on learning design, leadership, and organizational development.

Part 3: Summarize it for us, Sarah

I’ve made a career out of connecting seemingly different resources to problem solve and provide efficient solutions. Regardless of your organizational size or department specialty, it is likely I will come up with an idea, strategic initiative, or program that could be easily implemented to increase productivity while reducing cost and engaging your workforce.

Please reach out to me if you would like to collaborate on an idea or have me speak at your event, I’m always looking to learn new things, challenge my perspective, and meet new people.
